The MORE Africa series was conceived in 2019 with a question: what is the first storybook that an African child reads? From this one question followed several more: What kind of books are our children reading? Who are the heroes of these stories? Reflecting on these questions, they came to a powerful realisation: for far too long, the best quality books in sub-Saharan Africa have been a window, where our children look into realities experienced by children in other parts of the world. From these reflections, a vision was born: to create a high-quality early reader series that is not a window, but rather a mirror.
